Coaches Corner
In an effort to increase my efforts in communicating team
events, activities, and new policies I am now introducing a new way
to receive team information. I will do my best to regularly
send out an email with updates and announcements. The best way to stay informed is
still to constantly and consistently check our website
dalycitydolphins.org. If you
would like to voice your opinions so the board and I can properly
make decisions on the future of the team please attend our monthly
board meetings. Thank you all for your feedback so that we can
continue the growth and success of the Dolphins.
Announcements
Parent meeting
The board and I will be hosting a
parent information meeting to discuss the direction of the team,
expectations of parents and swimmers, and Team Unify.
I will have a
projector set up and a power point presentation to demonstrate how
to log into Team Unify and access all the information on the web
site. Please be sure to attend at least one of the
days.

Zone 1 North Championship Meet
This Saturday
and Sunday (1/23- 1/24)
Zone 1
North Championship meet was this past weekend. It was a big success. I’m sure most of you have
already seen the trophy on the deck, but if you haven’t we
won 1st place in our division!!!
It was a very impressive win with second place two
hundred points behind DCD.
Joelene Latief, Chris Lee, and Yanni Velasquez dominated their
age group and were invited to represent Zone 1 North at the
All-Star meet.
Thank you to all the parents and swimmers who braved the
harsh weather to attend the meet. Without your enthusiasm and
sacrifice we would not have done nearly as well.
Equipment Bags
Today Wednesday the 27th is the last day to
hand in your order forms!!!
FAQ
Do I have to order the bag or can I use my
own?
As
long as it holds all of the equipment and has the swimmers name on
it I don’t have a preference on a bag. You can use your
own.
What if I have my own equipment?
If you
would like to replace some items on the order form with something
you already have please bring it to the pool before the order
deadline so that I can approve its training value.
What if I don’t buy the equipment?
The
equipment I specified has very specific training and teaching
qualities to better your swimmer. If you do not purchase the
equipment your swimmer will not have the training tools necessary
to participate with their group. Anytime a piece of equipment is
used that your swimmer does not have they will not be able to
participate during that portion of practice.
Does my swimmer have to bring their equipment to practice
every day?
Yes! Their
equipment should be valued as important as their swimsuit. Your child will not be able
to participate in portions of their practice if they do not have
the required equipment and will have to wait on the wall until that
piece of equipment is no longer being used.
Winter Schedule
Remember the winter schedule starts February
1st. Please
be sure to check Team Unify for the new schedule.
Fundraising
When the new pool is completed and the Dolphins move next door it
will not come cheap.
We will have a much larger bill to accompany a much larger training
facility. If you would
like to keep our dues reasonable we need to increase our efforts in
fundraising. Please
let me know if you have any ideas to help DCD raise money. Also, we need help
coordinating these fundraisers. It is always the same three
volunteers in charge of fundraising. They need help and your
support.
