The
Daly City Dolphins Pre-Competition program began as a vehicle for
little brothers and sisters of team members, relatives and friends
to learn the swimming skills necessary to join the team. It has
evolved into a feeder program that allows any child who wants to be
on a competitive team the opportunity to learn and practice
developmental drills in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and
butterfly that will enable them to successfully transition to a
team. During the year the children who tryout for the team, but
either lack the skills or the conditioning, can come back in the
summer to get it.
Registration is the first week in June at the pool and the sessions
are daily from June to August.
Fees are set by the Parent Board and cover the entire 8 weeks.
Becoming a
Dolphin
Many
swimmers want to pursue competitive swimming after having
successfully completed the Pre-Comp course. All prospective
Dolphins should:
•Obtain a Registration form from one of the DCD coaches.
Complete and return the form when your child wishes to join the
team. Their is an option of a two week trial period for
$40.00.
•When the trial period is successfully completed, each
swimmer joining DCD must submit the annual USA Swimming
Registration fee of $60.00, (along with a completed USA Swimming
Registration form), and a DCD Annual Membership Fee fee of $100.00.
(Fees are subject to change.)
•Obtain a copy of the DCD Club Guide and a copy of the
Pacific Swim Guide from the Membership Coordinator.
•Obtain a USA Swimming Registration Number (see swim guide
or ask the DCD Membership Coordinator for details). The USA swim
registration fee you pay when enrolling allows you to obtain this
Registration Number.

Maintain the monthly membership dues and water use fees. The fee
structure is as follows....
Bronze group: $65.00
Silver/Gold/Junior group: $75.00
Pre-Senior/Senior: $85.00
There is a $15.00 discount for any additional family member who
joins the Dolphins.
